Amazon wants to know what you look like…
Recently I was invited to Amazons new London digital development centre to take some photographs. I was with London Mayor Boris Johnson as we wondered through, and they didn’t mind having their computer screens in shot. But as I flicked through the images recently I noticed a few interesting things on the screens…
Now it may be that they deliberately chose what to put on their screens as it was obvious they were going to be in the pictures (Boris was actively looking at them) or it may be an accident.
Why is this interesting? Well I could be wrong but the second slide suggests to me there will be some form of facial recognition system employed to see who is watching the tv to enable it to surface the relevant content. Coupled with that it will be connected to some form of social network.

So, maybe in the future your tv will be watching you as you watch it…
